Hollywood Burbank Airport Replacement Terminal Burbank, California
To help Hollywood Burbank Airport enhance the traveler experience, Syska Hennessy is working with Corgan and the design-build team to design engineering systems for the new replacement 14-gate terminal. The new 355,000 sf terminal will improve upon the existing terminal while meeting current earthquake design standards and FAA runway safety standards. In addition to the terminal, the project includes a six-story parking garage with two floors of underground parking, a cargo building and ground support equipment building.
Known as “Elevate BUR,” the terminal replacement program is implementing a progressive design-build approach to achieve the airport’s goals for the new facility, such as enhancing safety and providing better accessibility. The project will create a modern, distinctive, sustainable, and convenient facility to best serve the community. The new terminal will consolidate passenger and baggage screening functions to meet TSA security requirements more efficiently.
