Crayola Experience at the Shops at Willow Bend, Plano, Texas
Syska Hennessy provided MEP engineering services for the 50,000 sf addition and 10,000 sf renovation project to create a hands-on, family-friendly attraction at the Willow Bend mall. The new Crayola Experience provides kids with over a dozen activities, including going on a 4D coloring adventure, learning how crayons are made, creating their own Crayola crayon, and starring in their own coloring page. The concept is expected to attract over 400,000 visitors a year, boosting the mall’s overall attendance.
The engineering design met the needs of this exciting new space, which includes:
- Activity center /Material workshop where users can cut, color and paste themed projects.
- Adventure lab where users solve colorful puzzles in this immersive tablet-based attraction.
- Photo attraction where users can create their own coloring book at the push of a button in a photo-booth.
- Crayola Café with themed food options.
- Café Stage where live entertainment is set on an interactive stage.
