Blackrock World Headquarters – 50 Hudson Yards, New York, New York
BlackRock has relocated their corporate headquarters to 50 Hudson Yards. The design of their multi-floor space is complete with a “building within a building,” with dedicated chiller plant, generator power, and domestic water feeds to all floors. While this was being installed by the building developer, Syska Hennessy was involved in the system basis of design and engineering peer oversight of this design.
Syska’s design efforts included the interior fit-out of a 400-person auditorium, full cooking cafeteria, conferencing center, executive suites, two trading floors, and eight floors of office space. The majority of the space is designed to provide all underfloor air distribution (UFAD) and dedicated uninterruptable power distribution throughout the office spaces. Syska’s design features a modulator underfloor electrical bus distribution, perimeter 2-pipe and 4-pipe re-cool and reheat, and a heat recovery chiller to make domestic hot water with the chilled water return.
Other specialized services included energy modeling for efforts to achieve LEED Platinum, BMS/EPMS for standalone system and fire alarm.
