The VCMC has constructed a new 120-bed primary acute care hospital building utilizing Clark Design/Build of California, Inc. and HOK Architects in a design-build process with tight budget and schedule.
The successful construction of this hospital required a clear understanding of VCMC’s program and design criteria as well as the State of California Public Contract Code as it pertains to Design-Build. Thorough awareness of OSHPD’s 1 requirements and collaboration with the VCMC team were also key to the success of this project.
Syska provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, technology peer review, and commissioning authority services to meet the established project goals and schedules. Commissioning services included MEPT systems and building envelope commissioning.
Our team was selected based on multiple criteria including experience managing hospital construction teams, knowledge of the building adjacent to the existing operating facilities, understanding of equipment budgets, quality control considerations, hospital commissioning and move-in experience.
