UCLA Anderson School of Management, Los Angeles, CA

Add to Brochure

Syska partnered with Gensler, Pei Cobb Freed & Partners, and PCL Construction for the new 4-story addition to UCLA’s Marion Anderson Graduate School of Management. The building addition extends the architectural language of the existing school, providing an appropriately scaled yet bold new campus presence that addresses an upgraded Briskin Plaza to the south, as well as a new vehicular arrival and primary building entry to the north.

Syska’s involvement included conceptualizing the basis of engineering systems design and schematic design documents then used to procure a CMAR and design-build subcontractor team. Syska provided design assistance and peer review engineering services for design development and construction documents phases to insure the final design remains true to the original design intent.

The new addition sits on top of an existing parking structure that has been seismically enhanced to support the new 4-story building addition. Innovative systems include dis-placement ventilation of high volume classrooms, extensive daylighting, and operable windows for administrative offices that are tied in to the HVAC system for mixed mode operation.
