New York-Presbyterian set out to build a new maternity hospital on the NYPH campus. The project included a 6-floor fit-out above a newly constructed Ambulatory Care Center.
The new building includes facilities for outpatient services, operating rooms, delivery rooms, NICU and ante/post-partum rooms. The total fit-out space is approximately 246,500 square-feet, and Syska Hennessy’s work included design of all MEP/FP systems and design of the IT infrastructure to support voice, data, clinical systems, WiFi, RFID, etc. We also designed the nurse call system, security access control and video surveillance, wireless infant protection system and audiovisual systems such as video monitors for patient entertainment and clinical support, presentation and collaboration systems and video conferencing systems.
