Esperanza Brighton Park, Chicago, IL
Esperanza, a community healthcare provider, teamed up with Mujeres Latinas en Acción, an advocacy and social services organization for Latinas, to create a new medical home in Brighton Park. The building situated on the southwest corner of South California and 47th Street has a color-shifting metal panel façade; the most striking is bright orange. Esperanza means hope in Spanish and this new two-story health and wellness center is bringing just that.
Esperanza promotes healthy lifestyles focusing on primary care services and community amenities. The center’s goal was to engage staff, patients, visitors and inspire the surrounding community as well.
JGMA Architects brought Syska Hennessy onboard to provide MEP engineering services for the medical office building which including 45 exam rooms, three central nurses’ stations, community youth group rooms, a teaching kitchen, administrative space, and an imaging suite that includes X-ray, mammography, and ultrasound rooms.
The project was completed on-time and within the budget that the client established.
