E! Entertainment relocated to 350,000 sf of space at the Wilshire Courtyard building, encompassing live studios, technical areas, data center and executive office space.
Syska designed the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems to address challenges, including:
- Designed mechanical and electrical systems to enable 7×24 operations for all technical areas including studios, master control and all postproduction.
- Separated the studios were separated from the rest of the building by creating a box within a box through the use of a floating floor and special acoustic walls and ceilings, to achieve the NC15 acoustical required standard for the first floor studios, audio sweetening rooms and voice over booth.
- To meet the fast-track schedule, with design and construction occurring simultaneously, Syska’s team pretty much lived on-site to engage with the sub-consultants, contractor, construction manager, and the owner.
The key to completing this enormous project on-time was the entire team’s collaborative approach.
