Syska Hennessy has appointed Leigh Ann Vogel, PE, LEED AP BD+C, as associate partner/supervising engineer.

Ms. Vogel has 25 years of experience in engineering. In her new role, she manages multi-disciplinary projects, spearheads business development, and provides technical leadership.

Previously, Ms. Vogel served as a senior electrical engineer and electrical department manager at McVeigh & Magnum Engineering, Inc., a firm based in Charlotte, North Carolina. Earlier, she held senior management roles at LPA Inc., a sustainable design firm in Irvine, California; and at TLC Engineering for Architecture in Orlando, Florida.

“Leigh’s experience spans a variety of geographies and project types,” says Jim Regan, Syska senior principal and leader of the firm’s Eastern region. “Not only are her knowledge and skills valuable, but what further distinguishes her is her ability to foster cohesion among colleagues, clients, and project partners, regardless of the sector, scope, or budget. All of us in the Eastern region are eager to work with her.”

Past projects that Leigh oversaw encompass the healthcare, commercial, governmental, education, hospitality, and multifamily industries, with budget ranges from $250,000 to $100 million. Her clients included the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, medical centers across the Southeast, Walt Disney World, Edwards Life Sciences, The Irvine Company, and the Orange County Fire Authority.

A resident of Clayton, Georgia, Ms. Vogel received a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She is a licensed engineer in seven states, and is a member of the Society of Women Engineers, the Illuminating Engineering Society, and Women in Healthcare.
