With more than 30 years of experience, Robert Fagnant is an accomplished project manager and an award-winning designer recognized for his energy-saving solutions and unique architectural lighting designs by the American Institute of Architects (AIA) and the Illuminating Engineering Society of North America (IESNA). Robert has developed new and innovative lighting products for applications where standard products were not available.

Based in San Diego, Robert also performs as a project manager for various disciplines, including architectural lighting, MEP, information and communications technology (ICT) and commissioning, and he has a part in every design that goes out the door. He brings experience across multiple sectors, including hospitality, higher education, aviation and healthcare, designing systems for clients that include Marriott International, Hyatt brands, Pfizer, Takeda, Host Hotels & Resorts, University of California, San Diego (UC San Diego) and Cedars-Sinai.

Business development is also an area Robert focuses on not only for architectural lighting but also for the hospitality sector as he travels to various offices developing these markets and business relationships.

Robert always possessed an innate passion for design. One of his most challenging projects was for The Neurosciences Institute campus in La Jolla, California, where he was tasked to create lighting designs that go beyond common practice. He used locomotive headlamps as a lighting source, demonstrating his ability to look beyond the normal and create something exceptional.

When Robert wants to be tested mentally and physically, he grabs his bike and heads to the outdoors. He has spent over 30 years travelling, riding and racing in some very unique and beautiful places. Experiencing new settings, such as the beach or mountains, with his three-year-old son is also one of his favorite pastimes.
