Michael Falkenstern, CEA, CxAP, LEED AP

Principal

Michael Falkenstern, who joined Syska Hennessy in 2005, brings more than 18 years of experience focused on MEP design, commissioning, operational consulting, maintenance, energy audits and construction management for various large-scale facilities. He is well versed in the complexities of the commissioning, construction and operations process, from pre-design through to post-occupancy. He works closely with owners, contractors and design engineers to provide a full range of facilities management and commissioning (FMCx) services.

Michael is currently the regional operations manager for Syska’s FMCx group and is responsible for all day-to-day operations in the Northeast markets. He leads a staff of MEP and controls engineers who provide design reviews, oversight of complete start-ups, system testing, commissioning, and training and operations for major commercial interiors, healthcare and mission critical facilities.

During his tenure with Syska, Michael has acted as a mechanical engineer, client leader and prime project manager for many Fortune 500 clients, including: Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Express Scripts, Pfizer, Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Citigroup and MetLife.

Michael holds a BS in mechanical engineering from Rutgers University. He is also a certified energy auditor (CEA), commissioning authority provider (CxAP) as well as a LEED Accredited Professional (AP), and he has managed all aspects of the commissioning process.

Michael is an avid car enthusiast, who loves to golf and play softball as well as coach his kids’ athletic teams.
