Charbel Antonios Farah, senior principal in Syska Los Angeles, brings more than 30 years of experience as a consulting mechanical engineer. He works with the firm’s aviation, sports and entertainment clients, developing a well-rounded experience working within the mixed-use, hospitality, high-rise, stadiums, hospitals and convention centers sectors.
He has recently completed a number of important projects, including a major airport terminal renovation project at LAX and Tom Bradley International Terminal (Bradley West) as well as the prominent, 6.33-acre mixed-use development Metropolis in Downtown Los Angeles.
Charbel embraces new technologies. Throughout his career, he has been committed to sustainable design and enabling clients to minimize energy consumption by increasing efficiency and saving operational costs. “Whenever I feel like I can innovatively solve a problem without adversely affecting the environment or future generations, I become inspired,” he says. He never lets go of his desire to understand mechanical system components inside and out. He is an active member in the Association of Consulting Electrical Engineers (ACEE), American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
Charbel and his wife, Christina, have been married for 28 years. They have two grown kids: 21-year-old Anthony and 24-year-old Katie. When Charbel is not knee-deep in meeting client goals, he enjoys teaching Sunday school at his church, hiking and watching movies.
