Kevin Meyer, PE

Associate Principal

Kevin Meyer has over 16 years’ experience as an electrical consulting engineer for highly complex facilities, ranging from critical facilities and office buildings to animal research facilities and pharmaceutical laboratories. He currently oversees the operation of the Jacksonville, Florida, office with a focus on client relationship development across the state.

Kevin took over the leadership role of the newly opened Jacksonville office in January of 2004, emphasizing client development and management of existing clients that are currently local to the Jacksonville market. Since starting with Syska Hennessy Group, Kevin has grown the Florida market base and currently maintains client relationships for multiple Fortune 500 companies, and has increased the Florida office staff from two to eight design professionals.

The future of the Jacksonville office is exciting because there are many opportunities for additional growth in the local market as well as throughout the state of Florida. Kevin takes great pride in working hard to create a strong team of highly skilled engineers who focus on providing clients with exceptional service beyond what is expected in the consulting industry, in line with the corporate goals.

Kevin graduated with a BS in architectural engineering with an emphasis in electrical engineering from the University of Kansas. This degree was specifically tailored to the building-design industry by teaching the basic engineering fundamentals and then applying them directly to the design and engineering of buildings and building systems. In addition, this degree also included architectural design studios, in which engineering students worked side by side with architectural students, which fostered a strong understanding of the architectural process. Kevin utilizes this experience on a daily basis while managing projects and communicating with clients and architects, providing a unique level of understanding to the design process.

When Kevin is not at the office working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children and attending to multiple hobbies of various hands-on capacities. Kevin is also leading the local Cub Scout pack and enjoys spending time camping with the Cub Scouts, educating the young generation on self-reliance, respect and the great outdoors.
