Jim Regan is the Eastern region leader for Syska Hennessy Group and has nearly 40 years of experience. He manages over 250 professionals in nine offices along the East Coast. In this role, Jim ensures the highest level of technical excellence, project delivery, client focus, efficiency in operations and collaboration among project teams and across all his offices.
Making positive connections with people is important both internally and externally. Not only does Jim make client satisfaction a top priority, but he values his internal team members and understands the importance of their roles. “I feel it’s all about putting your team members’ wants and desires above your own,” he says, “and to treat others with the utmost respect and maintain a positive outlook in all that you do.”
Ever since his childhood, Jim was interested in how things were built. His father was an engineer and occasionally brought him to job sites. Having these experiences as a young boy greatly influenced his passion for construction, so becoming an engineer seemed like the natural progression for him.
In 1978, Jim joined his father at Syska Hennessy Group as a mechanical engineer to follow in his footsteps. He was focused on mechanical engineering and project management for various market sectors, including higher education, broadcast and entertainment, healthcare and critical facilities.
Jim is a graduate of the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering. He is an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), the 7×24 Exchange International and AFCOM.
Jim enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two children. During his spare time, Jim enjoys restoring classic boats as well as fishing and boating in the waters of Long Island. The thing he looks forward to the most is his annual family trip to Lake George.
