For more than 50 years, Syska has provided a full range of engineering design services in the Washington Metro area to fulfill the unique and complex requirements of government agencies. Located in the heart of downtown D.C., our office is home to 15 employees.
We work with many governmental entities, such as the State Department, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), Naval Academy Foreign Affairs Conference (NAFAC), the FBI, and the Smithsonian. We also partner with architects, owners’ representatives, and construction companies throughout the region, supporting leading corporations and organizations like AIG, BlackRock, Deloitte, Deutsche Bank, and Holy Cross Germantown Hospital, among others.
We are proudest of our work on the Pentagon reconstruction — the 450,000-sf design-build fast-track project that commenced immediately after the FBI’s investigation following 9/11. In 2008, we were also part of a team that constructed the Pentagon Memorial at the same site to honor the 184 people who lost their lives at that site during the attack. These projects are close to our hearts.
Some of our recent projects include:
We love working in the nation’s capital, and enjoy exploring its world-renowned museums, monuments, and parks. Our dedication to D.C. is exemplified by our leadership in the city’s new Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) benchmarking initiative. Through the BEPS program, we help building owners and landlords achieve healthier and more sustainable building environments for the city’s residents, workers and visitors. We are also committed to improving the city through community outreach initiatives such as our recent donation to the Capital Area Food Bank.
