Established in 1974, our Los Angeles office has provided a wide range of engineering services. Over the years our service offerings grew to include not just mechanical, electrical and plumbing but also vertical transportation, commissioning, information technology, audiovisual, security and energy modeling, and architectural lighting design. We design a variety of projects in the aviation, office buildings and corporate interiors, higher education, life sciences, healthcare, critical facility, retail, entertainment and broadcast, sports and convention centers, criminal justice, libraries, museums and performing arts sectors.
Second only to Syska Hennessy Group’s headquarters, Los Angeles is our largest location, boasting more than 80 professionals. With a rich history and a strong regional portfolio, we’re proud that most of our projects stem from a healthy mix of both existing and new clients.
Los Angeles, along with our San Diego and San Francisco offices, form the hub for our services in the Western region. We recently completed iconic projects for Los Angeles, including Tom Bradley International Terminal at LAX, the new Los Angeles Federal Courthouse, Metropolis (a mixed-use campus) and the County of Los Angeles Hall of Justice.
Our Los Angeles office has always been at the forefront of sustainability, completing many projects certified under LEED, including our own office space, which is LEED Silver. We were an early participant in the Architecture 2030 Challenge, actively supporting the goal for our new buildings and major renovations to be carbon neutral by 2030.
In 2015, Syska’s work was recognized for technical, environmental and aesthetic achievements. ENR California named Los Angeles County Hall of Justice a Renovation/Restoration Best Project, and Los Angeles International Airport Central Utility Plant an Energy/Industrial Best Project.
We’re excited to be located in such a dynamic city and have the opportunity to preserve and contribute to the city’s iconic architecture and downtown cityscape, which is among the most inspiring in the nation. We’re particularly proud of our new federal courthouse project taking place at the heart of downtown LA, as well as Metropolis, the Long Beach Civic Center and the renovated, all-glass Christ Cathedral.
