To support our clients’ growth and needs across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Syska Hennessy Group opened a permanent office in Dubai Internet City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in 2012.
We provide a full range of engineering services, including MEP, information and communication technology (ICT), audiovisual, security design, building assessments and infrastructure upgrades, commissioning and facilities management consulting.
Syska MENA, with more than three decades of experiences designing MEP systems for several notable buildings in the Middle East, established a full-service office in Dubai to leverage our firm’s extensive design experience. We provide services for complex projects in critical facilities, healthcare, aviation, education, mixed use, hospitality, commercial and high-performance building technology for regional and international clients.
In the same vein, Dubai is a dynamic and exciting part of the world for engineers. It is setting new global standards for the built environments and leading the way in sustainability. Being on-the-ground in Dubai provides our global firm with an essential hub to support projects around the world, and a source of engineering innovation.
We work with premier architects and project managers from Fortune 500 firms, including JLL and Deloitte, to support clients such as Wells Fargo, SEHA, Saudi Aramco, Sadara Chemical Company, Mobily, UAE Prime Minister’s Office, Central Bank of Kuwait, and AbbVie.
Syska provided the initial services for what eventually became Khazna Data Center—the largest wholesale colocation company in the UAE—as well as for the Dubai Roads and Transportation Authority (RTA) corporate data center. Both projects set a high standard for data center consultancy in the region. We also recently completed a flagship data center and ICT project for National Microfinance Bank’s new headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Syska MENA is at the forefront of sustainability. We have completed LEED-certified projects, including HOK’s new office space, which is LEED Gold. We have an Estimada Pearl Certified Professional (PQP) on staff for projects in Abu Dhabi. We were an early participant in the Architecture 2030 Challenge, actively supporting the goal for our new buildings and major renovations to be carbon neutral by 2030.
Being part of Dubai provides us the opportunity to contribute to the city’s push for innovation across the region. We’re particularly proud to partner with Gensler and Thornton Tomasetti to realize the world’s very first 3D-printed office—the Dubai “Office of the Future”.
