To support our clients’ growth and needs across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, Syska opened a permanent office in Dubai Internet City, Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), in 2012 and has been growing strongly in the past decade. The Middle East is a dynamic and exciting region of the world for all aspects including engineering. It is setting new global standards for the built environments and leading the way in sustainability. Being on-the-ground in Dubai provides our global firm with an essential hub to support projects around the world, and a source of engineering innovation.
Syska Hennessy Group has almost 50 years history in providing front line contribution to the development of Middle East projects. In 1975, Syska as part of a four-firm consortium, was awarded and delivered the biggest Middle East project at that time, the King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The Campus consists of approximately 12 million sq. feet of academic and administrative buildings spreading across 3 sq. miles.
We have extensive experience in the MEP/FP engineering design, architecture, construction, consulting, and studies of Data Centers in the GCC markets, bringing and applying locally in Middle East our knowledge being amongst the leaders in designing for Hyperscalers. We have completed several design, commissioning, supervision, and assessment projects in GCC including Arab Bank of Jordan, Central Bank of UAE, Etisalat, EITC “DU”, DAMAC Data Centers, Saudi Aramco, Saudi Public Investment Fund, Tadawul, SADAR Chemical Company, STC “Saudi Telecommunication Company”, Mobily, Oman Royal Office, and Batelco in Bahrain to name a few.
Syska provided the feasibility study to Mubadala, du and Injazat for what eventually became Khazna Data Centers—the largest wholesale colocation company in the UAE—as well as for the Dubai Roads and Transportation Authority “RTA” corporate data center. Both projects set a high standard for data center consultancy in the region. We also completed a flagship data center and ICT project for National Microfinance Bank’s new headquarters in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, and we commissioned a TIER IV facility for Mauritius Telecom.
Syska also proudly partnered to design, print, assemble and fit-out the Office of The Future, the world’s very first 3D-printed office in Dubai, UAE. The complicated nature of 3D printed construction required a fundamentally different approach to MEP engineering and lighting design. The project won several awards including National Recognition Award from ACEC NY, Diamond Award – Special Projects Category, and Guinness World Record ‘‘First 3D Printed Building’.
Our growing number of professionals have extensive international experience. We enjoy traveling and collaborating with people from other cultures.
