A Message from Syska Hennessy regarding a recent Hiring Scam

We have recently been made aware of a series of fraudulent employment offers purportedly from Syska Hennessy sent to unwitting job seekers.  These individuals have falsely represented themselves to be members of the Syska Executive team, from the HR and Senior management teams.

These scammers typically:

• Connect with potential job seekers through virtual career fairs and via networking APPS like, “Handshake “and “Telegram”, to advertise false job openings and to interview applicants.
• Request applicants send their application, resume, or CV to an illegitimate email address or fax number.
• Provide false letters of employment offers to applicants , noting a specific position, signed by several different Syska executives.
• Request candidate’s bank details under the pretext of making them an offer.
• Provide and request the applicant to deposit third party checks to their personal bank accounts.

At Syska Hennessy, we do not request a candidate’s personal information or bank details as part of the interview or job offer process.  All applicants must submit their resumes and complete the application process through our applicant tracking system.  Furthermore, a legitimate employer would never ask you to send payment of any kind nor would they send advance payment to you.  Please check the sender’s email address and if it appears suspicious (i.e., from a gmail.com, zohomail.com , etc.) then it is not legitimate.
