HOUSTON, TX – May 16, 2008 –Syska Hennessy
Group, Inc., a global consulting, engineering, technology
and construction firm, has announced the appointment of Richard A. Hughes
as Vice President and Managing Director of its Houston, Texas office.
In his new position, Mr. Hughes will manage Syska’s Houston operations. The
firm is currently working on projects for Baylor College
of Medicine, Brazosport Memorial Hospital, Rice University and St. Lukes
Sugar Land Hospital.
In conjunction with the firm’s Dallas office, Mr. Hughes will
also be responsible for expanding Syska’s service offerings and
market specialties in Texas, including mechanical/electrical/plumbing
engineering, technology design, and systems commissioning. “Syska
Hennessy has long been a recognized leader in Texas in hospital and data
center design,” he noted. “We
are now looking to bring our proven expertise from other
parts of the country to Texas in such growing market sectors as science
and technology, higher education and aviation design.”
Mr. Hughes has more than 24 years of professional experience. Prior
to joining Syska Hennessy Group, he was Director of Business
Development at an international consulting engineering firm. He holds
a B.S. degree in mechanical engineering from Worcester College of Engineering. He
is a member of the U.S. Green Building Council.
