Kenyon College is the oldest private institution of higher education
in Ohio and was founded in 1824. As part of a master
plan that was unveiled in 2004, extensive renovations have been
undertaken to renovate and improve the Peirce Dining Hall in order
to accommodate changes in the dining needs of the student population.
Project Features:
- Computational Fluid dynamics analysis
- Telecommunications design
- Dining for 1,700 students
- Energy Studies
Innovations and Solutions:
Syska engineers were challenged to provide balanced cooling
and other MEP Systems to Peirce’s Great Hall without changing the
extensive wood finishes and fretwork of the Great Hall interior. They
were able to meet the challenge by conducting CFD analysis and enclosing
ductwork and piping within a discovered attic space.
