James Coe, PE, RCDD
James Coe is Syska Hennessy Group’s critical facilities director, the firm’s largest group. He leads a team of more than 150 professionals located throughout the 16 offices, providing critical-facility design and consulting. Syska is consistently ranked among the top three of data center design firms by Engineering Record News (ENR).
James joined Syska as a vice president and Southeast operations manager in 2006. He brings over 30 years of experience in engineering operations, project management and design. He provides consulting, design, reliability assessments and commissioning for mission critical facilities for clients including AT&T, Bank of America, Chevron, Cisco, Cleveland Clinic, Duke Energy, General Electric, General Motors, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, Oracle, Sprint, Verizon Wireless, Yahoo, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Navy.
James is a professional engineer (PE) registered in 41 U.S. states, a registered communications distribution designer (RCDD), and he holds a National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) license.
James has a BS in electrical engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, and a MS in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia. He previously served in the U.S. Navy as a nuclear engineer and surface warfare officer. James is an instrument-rated private pilot who flies regularly.
