Dan Nall, PE, FAIA, FASHRAE, LEED FELLOW

Principal

Dan Nall is principal and high performance leader for Syska Hennessy Group’s East region. Dan, who brings more than 35 years of experience, works with every team in the firm, , especially the mechanical engineers, to bring energy modeling expertise, sustainability solutions and energy conservation approaches to projects of every type. He is an architect by training and an engineer by practice.

Among Dan’s favorite projects is the William Jefferson Clinton Presidential Center where he designed a specialized environmental control system for the archival vault and a radiant heating and cooling and displacement ventilation system for the large presentation spaces. The project – in Dan’s words –“was an opportunity for significant innovation with a budget, client and architect with an appetite for that innovation” He is currently consulting on high performance design for several major corporate office buildings for confidential financial and government clients.

A graduate of both Princeton University, with a Bachelor of Arts, and Cornell University with a Bachelor of Architecture degree, Dan has taught at the architectural schools of Princeton, University of Pennsylvania, Columbia and Cornell; and he has also served as an ASHRAE Distinguished Lecturer since 2008. Dan is the only person to become a Fellow of ASHRAE, AIA and USGBC. When he’s not designing buildings, teaching or mentoring colleagues Dan enjoys cycling with his wife and daughter and dreaming about traveling to new places. “It’s a very big world and I want to see as much of it as I can!”
